Terms of Service

A beta service

mybits is an early beta. Features may change or disappear, and things may break. Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you (Settings lets you export your data).

Your account

You must be 18 or older. You're responsible for activity on your account; keep your sign-in secure. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

Your content

You own what you post: entries, scores, notes, reviews and profile details. You give us permission to store it and show it as your visibility settings allow, only to run mybits. You're responsible for what you post and must have the right to post it.

Profiles are public by default. Anything public can be seen by anyone on the internet, and others may copy it. Use the privacy settings for anything you don't want to share.

Acceptable use

Don't:

• post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• post other people's personal information without their permission;
• impersonate someone or create accounts in bulk;
• spam, scrape the site at scale, or interfere with or try to break into the service.

Ending things

You can stop using mybits and delete your account at any time. We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we may shut the service down; if we do, we'll try to give notice so you can export your data.

Third-party content

Film and TV data comes from TMDB, map data from OpenStreetMap contributors, and photos from Wikimedia Commons, each under its own terms and licences (see About & credits). We don't guarantee that data is accurate.

No warranty, limited liability

mybits is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (mybits is currently free). Nothing here limits rights you have under laws that can't be waived.

Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you on the site. These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
